GameCube games join Nintendo Switch Online, exclusive to Switch 2

Nintendo is finally adding GameCube games to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack library, though they will be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive addition alongside the 5th June launch of the console.

Games featured in the GameCube library will be capable of play at higher resolutions and performance than on the original hardware, as well as online multiplayer, similar to other Nintendo Switch Online games.

To start with the GameCube Switch Online library will feature the following games:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
  • SoulCalibur 2
  • F-Zero GX

Coming in future are:

  • Super Mario Sunshine
  • Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
  • OPokémon XD Gale of Darkness
  • Mario Strikers
  • Chibi-Robo!
  • Luigi’s Mansion
  • Pokémon Colosseum

In addition to the games, Nintendo is producing a GameCube replica controller to connect wirelessly. This will also feature a C-button to trigger GameChat features.
