Nicolas Cage is officially stepping into the shadows as Spider-Man Noir, this time in live action. Prime Video has released the first look at Spider-Noir, showing Cage suited up in the black-and-white costume fans will recognize from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The series, based on the Spider-Man Noir comics, is set in 1930s New York and follows an aging private investigator who must confront his past as the city’s only superhero. Cage, who voiced the character in the animated Spider-Verse film, now takes on the role in a full live-action format. The show will be available in both black-and-white and color versions when it premieres in 2026.

Spider-Noir will first air domestically on MGM+’s linear channel before streaming globally on Prime Video. The ensemble cast includes Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston. A number of guest stars are also confirmed, including Lukas Haas and Cameron Britton.

The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video. Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve) is directing and executive producing the first two episodes. Oren Uziel (The Lost City, 22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (Marvel’s The Punisher) serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. The show was developed in collaboration with Spider-Verse filmmakers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, all of whom return as executive producers.

While not directly tied to the Spider-Verse films, Spider-Noir draws from the same gritty tone and visual style, with a darker, more grounded take on the superhero mythos.
