‘Deva’ trailer: Shahid Kapoor’s cop hero is consumed by his relentless thirst for vengeance

Directed by acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews, ‘Deva’ is set to release on January 31

The trailer of the upcoming Shahid Kapoor-starrer, Deva, is here. Co-starring Pooja Hegde, the action thriller is directed by acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews.

The trailer begins with a voiceover from Shahid’s character Dev Ambre, hinting at his thirst for revenge after the death of a fellow police officer. With a pulsating background score, we see a montage of Dev’s rampage, as a ruthless cop with no bounds. Towards the end of the trailer, Pavail Gulatie’s character states how Dev’s anger is actually his fear, while a match-cut shows Dev, in an emotionally heavy moment, struggling to pull the trigger on a criminal.

Deva is written by Bobby Sanjay, Hussain Dalal & Abbas Dalal, Arshad Syed, and Sumit Arora. The cast of the film also features Pravessh Rana and Kubbra Sait.

With music by Vishal Misha and background score by Jakes Bejoy, the upcoming film has cinematography by Amit Roy and editing by A Sreekar Prasad.

Produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, Deva is set to release on January 31. The film was earlier slated to land in theatres on February 14 but was preponed since the slot was taken over by Vicky Kaushal's period action movie Chhaava.
