Ayushmann Khurrana steps into the role of Prem in Sooraj Barjatya’s next

The yet-untitled film is set to begin production in summer 2025.

Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, known for his timeless family sagas like Maine Pyaar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, is set to return with a new love story. For his latest project, Barjatya has cast Ayushmann Khurrana as his “new age Prem,” marking the actor’s debut collaboration with the iconic director.

According to industry sources, Ayushmann’s family-friendly image and charm made him the ideal choice for the role. The actor, reportedly thrilled with the film’s concept, has already developed a strong rapport with Barjatya. “Sooraj ji feels Ayushmann has the innocence and appeal required to embody Prem,” a source shared with Pinkvilla.

The yet-untitled film is set to begin production in summer 2025. Barjatya is currently searching for a leading actress to star opposite Khurrana, with plans to assemble a star-studded ensemble cast.
