Tirumala bathed in festive fervour on Thursday, as devotees celebrated ‘Hanuman Jayanti’ across various temples in the town.

Special pujas were conducted at famous Hanuman temples, including the Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple, the temple on the northeast corner of the Swami Pushkarini and the 60-foot-tall Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy temple on the first ghat road.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) authorities organised ‘Annadanam’ on a grand scale, distributing ‘prasadams’ to the devotees.

TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu presented ‘silk vastrams’ to the Hanuman temple in Japali Theertham, situated in the dense forests, about 5km from the town. However, the devotee turnout at Japali temple was affected with the TTD imposing restrictions on the travel of two-wheelers on the road leading to the ‘theertham’.
