As the 2024 final looms over us, some Bake Off fans are wondering... what does the winner actually get as a prize?
From the competitive nature of the show, you might think that there is a huge cash prize up for grabs that all the contestants are battling it out for.
But actually, the prize is a little more low key than that.
The winner of each series of The Great British Bake Off receives a bunch of flowers and a cake stand. And although this doesn't seem like much, the boasting rights of being a Bake Off winner has done great things for winners in the past.
Past winners of Bake Off have gone on to do big things, including series six winner Nadiya Hussain who has written books and hosted her own cooking shows.
The Great British Bake Off launched in 2010 on BBC Two with judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry. In 2015 it moved to BBC One and then eventually was taken over by Channel Four in 2017 and Mary Berry was replaced by Prue Leith.
Past presenters include Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, who were replaced by Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig when Channel Four took over, then in recent years it has been national treasure Alison Hammond alongside Noel.
Who are the finalists for Bake Off?
Christiaan de Vries: Christiaan is a clothing designer from London. He was born in the Netherlands and studied fashion in Amsterdam before moving to the UK seven years ago to pursue his career. He likes floral and citrus flavours and is big on baking bread
Georgie Grasso: Georgie, who is a children's nurse, lives in a farmhouse in Carmarthenshire with her husband, three children, and many pets. She loves baked sweet cannolis and says her love of food comes from baking with her Italian Nonna as a child.
Dylan Bachelet: Dylan, from Buckinghamshire, loves skateboarding and travelling and is very proud of his roots (his mother is Indian and his father is Japanese–Belgian). He likes to experiment with sweet and spice in his bakes, inspired by his heritage.
