Amy Dowden has issued an update sure to delight fans as she was reunited with JB Gill after their journey on Strictly Come Dancing ended in heartbreak for the pro.

The dancer had a rollercoaster of a stint in the latest series of the BBC One dance contest having triumphantly returned to the programme back in September after missing the 2023 series having been diagnosed with breast cancer.

However, the dancer's return to the dancefloor during Strictly 2024 was cut short when she suffered an injury at the end of October. The injury to her foot, which wasn't related to any other health concerns experienced previously, meant she couldn't continue in the 2024 run of the competition and was replaced by fellow pro-Lauren Oakley.

Amy later returned to the ballroom during the final of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series in December after she vowed to be back on her feet and dancing as soon as she was able

Now she is preparing to dance once again as rehearsals for the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour are well underway ahead of the first show on Friday (January 17) in Birmingham. Amy will once again perform with JB, as will Lauren, as they become the tour's first ever dancing trio.

Sharing a picture of the pair as the cast and crew headed to Birmingham's Utilita Arena to start tech rehearsals for the upcoming arena shows, Amy wrote on her Instagram Story: "And we backkkkkk @jbgill." She then asked her followers: "Any guesses which dance we are doing?"

It comes after Amy teased that she is working on something possibly away from the ballroom. She was seen in a recording booth with headphones on in front of a mic as she penned on her Instagram Story: "Can't wait to share this project with you all!"

Meanwhile, JB spoke of making Strictly Live history by performing with two pro partners as he said on Good Morning Britain: "I literally get to dance with both of them, which is amazing, and it works. Somehow, don't ask me how. It's great fun, especially after how the series played out. We had no idea Amy would have to withdraw from the competition and Lauren stepped in and we had an amazing run all the way to the final.

"So it's great to be able to revisit all the partnerships that made my series. So to be able to have Amy back on tour and be able to do one dance with her and one dance with Lauren and the group dances together, it's amazing. It's Strictly tour history."
