Coronation Street's Charlotte Jordan teases fans over 'happily ever after' as Daisy Midgeley to leave cobbles

Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan has said she wants her character to get her 'happy ever after' in a chat before her upcoming exit was revealed.

The actress first arrived on the cobbles as Daisy Midgeley back in 2020 and in a few short years has been part of some of the ITV soaps' biggest storylines.

Fans have seen Charlotte's character Daisy be central to a blackmail plot and was also stalked by Justin Rutherford, which culminated in Daisy and Ryan Connor being the victims of an acid attack. She later plotted her way into co-owning the Rovers Return with Jenny Connor and is now in the midst of a 'who's the daddy' storyline after discovering she's pregnant.

But in a statement earlier this month, Charlotte confirmed she's heading for pastures new. The soap star, who has won awards for her role, said: "My time at Coronation Street is something I'll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it's time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities."

She added: "It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much."

Now, Charlotte has been heard talking about her current storylines which sees Daisy pregnant and not knowing who the father is. Next week, spoilers for Corrie have revealed that Daisy will take a DNA test to find out whether Kit Green or Daniel Osbourne is the father of her child.

Asked who she thinks Daisy is hoping the father of her baby is, Charlotte said: "Daisy is absolutely hoping that Daniel is the father - I think she realises that this could be her last chance at getting that happily ever after with him which is what she’s always wanted. Logically I suppose, there is probably a bigger chance that it’s Kit’s baby but she’s putting that to the back of her mind. But we will just need to wait and see!"

And with Daniel's fiancee Bethany Platt set to take a job in London in upcoming scenes, will this make things easier for Daisy to win Daniel back? "Yes, I think if Daniel doesn’t move away with Bethany then Daisy will definitely see that as another final opportunity," Charlotte shared.

"Daisy sees Bethany as her main obstacle really, so with her out of the picture she will think it’s only a matter of time before she can finally get what she wants, which of course is Daniel, and we all know that Daisy will do anything to get what she wants."
