Alison Hammond clashes with son in new TV series as there's 'loads of arguments'

Alison Hammond has teased her new TV series with son Aidan, as the pair star in travel show Florida Unpacked together. The mother-and-son duo embark on a trip across Florida together in the new BBC Two series, which will begin airing on 27 January.

Florida Unpacked has been teased as "escapism" for TV viewers, and promises to show Alison and Aidan "uncovering hidden gems, soaking up sunshine, and sharing the best budget travel tips", while giving fans an insight into their bond.

Aidan, 22, has revealed he "really enjoyed" working alongside his mum for the first time, but admitted there were some disagreements along the way.

Speaking ahead of the show's launch, he said: "I really enjoyed it, especially the car rides. There was just so much laughter. But also, loads of arguments - mainly about directions! She always thought she knew where she was going, and I’d be telling her she was going the wrong way."

Meanwhile, Alison said working alongside her son for the first time made her acknowledge his incredible work ethic, admitting she was "surprised" at how well he handled the experience.

"It was Aidan’s first time filming, so it felt like I had a work experience apprentice with me. It was eye-opening to see how he approached it, and I realised he has the same work ethic as me - early mornings, late nights - he handled it really well! I was quite surprised, to be honest. You know how teenagers can be, but he was great!" she said.

The TV star and her son evidently share a close bond. Alison admitted Aidan "has the best time" going on trips with her, even though he travels with friends.

She said: "He absolutely loves it. He’s always asking, “Can I come?” The other day, he was saying how much fun we have together – I bring the lols, I am the life and soul, and he realises that. He’s been on plenty of trips with his friends, but he always says he has the best time with me."
