Pete Wicks was as self-deprecating as ever as he spoke about his upcoming Strictly Come Dancing performance. The reality star and podcast host recently shared his own surprise at making it through to week nine of the BBC One dance contest.

Pete through to another week of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series after a moving couple's choice performance last Saturday night (November 9) with dance partner Jowita Przystal, a routine which he said was performed in tribute to his beloved late nan, Doreen.

The former The Only Way is Essex star (TOWIE), who was visibly fighting back tears on the night, and Jowita went on to be praised for their "moving" performance to The Best by Nicotine Dolls, before it was confirmed during Sunday night's (November 10) results show that Pete and Jowita had made it through to the show's annual Blackpool special.

It's been revealed that Pete and Jowita will be performing a Cha Cha to I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred and the pair have been sharing details about their upcoming routine.

"Last week very much felt like me - this week very much does not," Pete admitted when speaking to Janette Manrara during Wednesday night's (November 13) episode of Strictly spin-off It Takes Two.

"Do you not think you are sexy?" asked Janette Manrara to which replied: "You have seen me dance. One thing about me dancing is that it is not sexy! I mean, the routine Jowita has got for it, it looks like something out of Magic Mike and I feel like it is going to be less 'Magic Mike' and more 'Tragic Pete'."

He also teased: "There is hot pink PVC," before Jowita insisted that it wasn't going to be anything like the 2012 movie, which starred Channing Tatum, as she said: "I think it is going to be a show but it is not Magic Mike."

Speaking elsewhere about the Blackpool Tower Ballroom's importance to Strictly, she said: “Performing at Blackpool Tower is just simply so special. The atmosphere, the history, everything makes it so unique.

“I feel very privileged to be able to come back there each year and share this dancefloor with some of the most talented dancers in the world. This year we celebrate Strictly’s 20th anniversary and I’m so happy I can introduce this magical place to Pete."
