Netflix's highest rated series of 2024 revealed following bumper year

The steampunk action-adventure series returned for its second instalment in November last year, but fans were heartbroken to discover that it would be the show's final season.
Coming in second is the third season of Heartstopper, which boasts an average audience rating of 93.8 out of 100. The third instalment of the teen romance series was eagerly awaited, having amassed a large fanbase due to its relatable coming-of-age narratives.
The series primarily follows Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) as they navigate their relationship, friendships and experiences.
In third place is the Japanese reality dating show The Boyfriend, which premiered its first series on the streaming platform in July and has a rating of 93.6.

It made history as the first same-sex dating show from Japan and has been so well received that it has been renewed for a second season, reports the Mirror.
In fourth place is The Lincoln Lawyer season three, with an audience rating of 89.5 out of 100. The legal drama series is based on Michael Connelly's 2008 novel The Brass Verdict, which is a sequel to his novel The Lincoln Lawyer.
The Diplomat's second season is next in line with a score of 88.1, followed closely by One Hundred Years of Solitude and American Nightmare both at 86.9, Baby Reindeer at 86.0, and Nobody Wants This at 85.7.
Completing the top ten list is the romantic drama One Day, which premiered on Netflix in February and has an average audience rating of 85.0.
Netflix had an exceptional year last year, concluding it with the highly anticipated second series of Squid Game.

Since its release on December 26, the second instalment has garnered a staggering 126.2 million views, surpassing any other Netflix series in that timeframe.
It broke Netflix records with the largest debut ever, amassing 68 million views in just four days and gaining an additional 58.2 million views in its first full week.
Upon its release, it made the list of most popular non-English language series but has now risen from seventh to second place, only surpassed by the first season of the hit show.
