Coronation Street fans beg 'please don't go' as they react to favourite confirming exit in latest blow

Coronation Street fans have been left begging Charlotte Jordan not to leave the show after she became the latest star to confirm her exit.

The actress first arrived on the cobbles as Daisy Midgeley back in 2020 and in a few short years has been part of some of the ITV soaps' biggest storyline.

Fans have seen Charlotte's character Daisy be central to a blackmail plot and was also stalked by Justin Rutherford, which culminated in Daisy and Ryan Connor being the victims of an acid attack. She later plotted her way into co-owning the Rovers Return with Jenny Connor and is now in the midst of a 'who's the daddy' storyline after discovering she's pregnant.

In a statement, Charlotte, who has won awards for her role, said: "My time at Coronation Street is something I'll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it's time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities."

And fans have flocked to social media to react to the news. @ConversationStr said: "Really sad that we’ll be saying goodbye to the incomparable Daisy Midgeley this year. Charlotte Jordan is an absolutely fantastic performer and we’re going to miss Daisy so much! Her and Jenny behind the bar are such a brilliant team. #corrie #coronationstreet."

@camjmes0 commented: "NOOOOOOO Daisy’s leaving Corrie," before adding: "Charlie Jordan please reconsider dorlin please." @Jenmetcalfeuk shared: "DAISY LEAVING CORRIE… ARE YOU KIDDING??? SHES ONE OF THE BEST. WHAT IS HAPPENING. FIRST GAIL, THEN DEBBIE AND NOW DAISY. 3 OF MY FAVES. CBA WHY OH WHY! LOVE YOU SO MUCH CHARLOTTE BUT PLEASE DONT GO. #Corrie."

According to The Sun, sources revealed that despite “loving the show”, Charlotte is hungry to see what other opportunities await. Confirmation of her exit comes after Colson Smith confirmed he was told he is being axed this year as he marks 14 years playing Craig Tinker.

Meanwhile, Sue Cleaver has also announced her plans to wave goodbye to Weatherfield after 25 years in the role of Eileen Grimshaw. She said: “I’ve had 25 privileged years of working on Coronation Street. The door is still firmly open, but as I reached my 60th year I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly."

Her exit will come shortly after that of her on-screen frenemy Gail Platt. Helen Worth was seen bowing out of the long-running soap on Christmas Day after spending 50 years in the iconic role of the Platt matriarch. It has also been rumoured that Sue Devaney has been axed from the show as Debbie Webster.
