BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Katya Jones' one-word message as she unveils Wynne Evans tribute after tour exit
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsKatya Jones has doubled down in her support for former dance partner Wynne Evans as their continued journey dancing together came to an abrupt end.
As fans know, the pair were one of the couples paired together Strictly Come Dancing's 2024 series. They lost their place in the BBC One dance contest following the Blackpool special, just a mere few weeks before the grand final,
But Katya has since said that she and Wynne were 'kept going' by the fact that they'd be reunited in the new year. They were seen hitting the road as part of the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2025 tour which also saw Wynne reunited with his series castmates - Love Island's Tasha Ghouri, actress Sarah Hadland, JLS singer JB Gill, EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick, The X Factor winner Shayne Ward and Gladiators star Montell Douglas.
However, their partnership came to a dramatic end just before were due to take to the stage on Tuesday evening (January 28) as part of the Strictly live tour stop in Liverpool, with the rest of the shows this week set to take place in Leeds and Manchester before the last run of shows next week, with the tour ending on February 9.
After issuing an apology for a 'inappropriate' remark during the tour's launch earlier this month, Wynne told how he'll 'take some time out' after he found himself in the midst of a new controversy. He said in a statement, which was posted to his Instagram Story on Tuesday evening: "I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.
Katya later reshared the statement to her own Instagram Story and said: "Let's show humanity and consideration. I will miss you my darling boy." She then reshared a video from an audience member who had watched Wynne in the show and as well as dancing, he also had his own singing moment. "Really missed this tonight," the pro dancer admitted with a sad face emoji.

She's since reshared the statement and her response again following the last show in Liverpool on Wednesday evening (January 29) after sharing a picture from her dressing room. The dancer could be seen sitting in front of a vanity mirror as a polaroid picture of Wynne stuck out next to one of the lights. "Hello," she typed with a waving hand emoji.
Last weekend, Wynne apologised for an “inappropriate and unacceptable” remark made during the tour launch on January 16. The Mail On Sunday reported that Wynne, known for the Go.Compare insurance advertisements, was heard making the remark to a woman in a video filmed during the event.
Wynne said at the time in response: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise." A spokesman for the Strictly live tour and BBC Studios said: “We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour."
