Davina McCall makes surprise ITV I'm A Celebrity appearance following brain surgery

by · Manchester Evening News

Davina McCall made an unexpected TV appearance following her recent brain surgery on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here. The star, who recently had a benign tumour removed, left hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly thrilled after joining them on Saturday night (November 23).

She sent the Geordie duo the message during their Instagram Live, dubbed 'Jungle Club', which they do after each show. Davina said: "Hey everyone! Still here" alongside a laughing emoji before her appearance sparked celebrations in the studio.

Dec said: "Hey Davina McCall is here everybody," while Ant added: “Hope you are feeling well…sending you lots of love from the jungle."

Those behind the camera were heard shouting: "We love you Davina.” The outpouring of love may have been a bit overwhelming - or it may have been past her bedtime - as Davina added: "I’m gonna sign off now," reports the Mirror.

Ant joked: "We were too much for her, we were too loud." But her appearance comes after her partner Michael Douglas said last week how she was recovering well following her recent op.

Presenter and TV star Davian shocked fans earlier this month when she revealed she was undergoing brain surgery after doctors discovered a 14mm wide tumour during a random health scan.

She said in a video posted on Instagram at the time: "A few months ago, I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was gonna ace. But it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst which is very rare. Three in a million. So I slightly put my head in the sand."

Davina explained how colloid cysts are very rare, saying three people in a million get them. They are small fluid-filled sacs located in or around the lateral and third ventricle of the brain.

The Long Lost Family host and Masked Singer judge explained how she sought opinions from neurosurgeons and after getting their advice, decided the best course of action was to get the tumour removed and she went under the knife for a craniotomy.

Her partner Michael vowed to keep her loyal fans updated and recently returned to social media on Monday (November 18) with news on Davina that Davina was out of ICU and said: "Update- Mega progress these last 24 hours. Massive relief to see some light breaking through. Thanks for all the good vibes coming in from all angles. Up and Up. Michale. xxx."

The hairdresser also wrote in the caption of the post on Instagram: "Update folks. Thanks so much to all the well wishers. She really has made an enormous leap forward in the last 24 hours. She is out of ICU She is 'loving awareness'. Thank you xx Michael."
