Channel 4 The Great Christmas Bake Off 2024: What time it's on and who is on it
by Elizabeth Cotton · Manchester Evening NewsThe Great British Bake Off will return with a festive Christmas special, featuring some of the nation's most loved soap stars.
Channel 4 will broadcast the special on Christmas Eve, where five celebrities will be taking on some festive-themed challenges in order to impress the Bake Off judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood. As they battle to win that coveted trophy, the bakers will also be under the watchful eyes of hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond.
With the casts of Derry Girls and It's A Sin featuring in previous years, it's no surprise that Bake Off want to introduce a good old-fashioned soap battle to viewers screens this year on December 24th.
From the cobbles, to Albert Square, all the way to the dales, these contestants mean business this year as they compete for the title of Festive Star Baker.
In 2023, the Christmas special invited back six previous bakers instead of celebrities, with Sophie Faldo winning the 2023 special holding onto her crown from series 8. The last celebrity winner of a Christmas special was Miquita Oliver in 2022 and Nathanial Curtis who won the It's A Sin edition of the show in 2021.
Here's who you can expect to see on your screen in this year's Christmas Bake Off.

Last month, Georgie became the winner of the latest series of Bake Off. The 34-year-old nurse, who was the show's first winner from Wales, battled against Dylan and Christiaan to impress the judges and therefore become the 15th GBBO winner.
The three finalists were asked to make both sweet and savoury scones, a classically British technical, and a floating cake showstopper. Upon winning after weeks of tough competition, Georgie said: "This is mad! I have won it, I can't believe it. This is just incredible. I can't believe that I have won The Great British Bake Off." With judge Prue Leith adding: "Georgie did what she does best - classic British baking beautifully done - and won it, and quite right, too."
The Great Christmas Bake Off airs on December 24 on Channel 4 at 8pm.
