Actor Mike Parr, who plays Emmerdale's Ross Barton, has teased "traumatic" scenes ahead as a villain causes drama next week

Ross finds himself facing his past, with the ITV soap revisiting a tragic storyline from 2014. Ross' first love Donna Windsor took her own life and killed villain Gary North when she jumped from the top of a multi-storey carpark, and Ross witnessed the devastating scenes.

Ten years later, and now Ross is dragged back to that same location, with Donna's daughter April Windsor now facing a grim fate. Villain Jade returns to the ITV soap, and she proves just how dangerous she is to sickened Ross next week.

Knowing about Donna, Jade kidnaps April and has her heavies dangle her over the edge of the carpark leaving Ross in turmoil. Faced with flashbacks from Donna's death, Ross faces having to save April while also dealing with his loss a decade on.

Now, Ross actor Mike has teased the dark scenes ahead with April's fate yet to be revealed. Of course viewers know that Jade is after the missing money from the recent fight, and she believes Ross stole it all.

In fact it was Mackenzie Boyd who is hiding the cash and Ross has no idea. So will Ross be able to convince the villain he had nothing to do with it? Will she believe him and let April go?

Mike revealed to The Mirror and other press when asked if he underestimated Jade: "Definitely not. He knows she’s a dangerous, sinister character. I think he doesn’t realise how deep the rabbit hole goes with her and what she is willing to do to make sure she wins and gets her money back."

He went on when asked about revisiting Donna's death: "It’s hugely traumatic for him. It brings back the worst memories. Seeing somebody die, especially the first girl who’s ever loved you and your first experience with love - to fall off a roof chained to a paedophile!

"It’s quite a traumatic event for him. Obviously when there’s a kid on the line Ross has a great connection with her, due to her being Donna’s daughter. It’s very stressful.

"He feels like he’s some sort of big brother, paternal figure in her life even though he hasn’t seen her for a little while. It is largely down to his relationship with Jade that this happens. Even though it isn’t really his fault the money goes missing, he still feels responsible for it."
