Love Island's Ekin-Su slammed for breaking girl code already as she makes shock decision

Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has been accused of ditching her friendship with Maura Higgins as she made a surprise deicion to couple up with her ex Curtis Pritchard

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has been slammed for breaking 'girl code' just hours into the Love Island All Stars villa.

The reality TV star has returned to the ITV2 dating show as she hopes for a second chance at finding love. She entered as a bombshell on Monday night just after the first pairings were made. The public were given the chance of matching the first sets of couples in the latest series, yet host Maya Jama revealed a shock twist.

Ekin-Su was given the opportunity to steal one of the boys on Tuesday's show. She spent time getting to know her fellow contestants, with the girls as well as viewers certain she would pick Scott Thomas. However, when it came to her decision Ekin-Su picked Curtis Pritchard.

The Islanders were surprised with her move, as well as viewers at home as Ekin-Su had only just opened up on her connection to Curtis' ex Maura Higgins. While having their chat, Ekin-Su asked how many girlfriends Curtis has had. He revealed three, including Maura after they met on their series of Love Island.

Ekin-Su spoke about where she lives in Chigwell, as Curtis said that's where his ex Maura also lives. It prompted Ekin-Su to reveal they actually live in the same block of apartments and they are friends. Fans were sent into a frenzy when Ekin-Su picked Curtis to couple up with considering her friendship with Maura.

One said: "Ekin said she’s a 'girls girl' is friends with and lives in the same building as Maura then picks her ex to couple up with." Another added: "so Ekin su said her and Maura were friends and lived in the same building but still picked Curtis?" Someone else commented: "My Love Island theory is that Ekin Su who said she knows Maura probably has beef with her, so she is pursuing her ex Curtis to get back at her lol."

On this year's All Stars line-up are Curtis Pritchard, Gabby Allen, Kaz Crossley, Nas Majeed , Marcel Somerville and Scott Thomas. Joining them are Olivia Hawkins, Catherine Agbaje, Ronnie Vint, Luca Bish, India Reynolds and Elma Pazar. Ekin-Su's decision to steal Curtis has meant Kaz is single.

India was heard saying: "I am shocked," as Scott said: "Wow." Whether Ekin-Su and Curtis will last remains to be seen, especially as he was keen to get to know Kaz. Maura and Curtis became an item in the Mallorca villa back in 2019 and went on to share a relationship in the outside world for eight months.

As he entered the All Stars villa, Curtis revealed: "Me and Maura ended up at the end together and... erm.. and yeah, that didn't work out, clearly. I've seen her a couple of times and said, 'Hello.' And she's just completely blanked me, but... erm... so I would say perhaps not best friends. Or friends. At all. But, erm..."
