ITV is heading back to South Africa for the latest series of Love Island : All Stars - with fans excited to see exes Marcel Somerville and Gabby Allen reunite after splitting nearly seven years ago.

The couple, who met on Love Island's third series in 2017, split the following year after Marcel cheated on Gabby while they were on holiday together.

While it's set to be an interesting reunion for the pair as they come face-to-face in the villa, some fans are sceptical of Marcel's intentions on the show and are worried that Gabby's time in the villa could be ruined. Writing on Reddit ahead of the show's launch, one fan said: "So your wife cheats on you and you go on the show planning to get sympathy , only to have the person you cheated with spoil all that," alongside a crying emoji.

Gabby and Marcel met on Love Island in 2017, but split the following year

Marcel shared last year that he had split from his wife Rebecca Vieira after Rebecca admitted to cheating on him with American rapper Slim Jxmmi. The TV personality, who shares three-year-old Roman with Marcel, wrote at the time: "I've embarrassed not only my husband but myself and both our families. My actions were foolish and have hurt so many people around us but most importantly my husband."

While Marcel is heading into the villa as a newly single man, some fans are concerned that his presence could negatively impact Gabby's time on All Stars. One wrote: "I really wish it wasn’t so obvious that Gabby and Marcel are going to get paired up because I feel like it’s just going to ruin her time there." Meanwhile, another fan said: "Putting Marcel and Gabby in right off the bat… diabolical."

This series of All Stars is kicking off with the same chaotic twist as last year - giving viewers the chance to vote for which contestants they wanted to be paired up. As the 2025 cast enter the villa in tonight's premiere, host Maya Jama will reveal the results of the public vote - with many convinced that Gabby and Marcel will be paired together by the fans.

Gabby and Marcel may not be the only exes to be appearing in the villa, with contestant Scott Thomas revealing that he wouldn't 'rule out' rekindling a romance with ex Kady McDermott if she shows up as a bombshell. In an exclusive chat with The Mirror, Scott spoke about his split from Kady, who he met during their 2016 series of Love Island.

"It didn't end in the best way possible," he said. "I just don't know. I don't want to sit here and say NO CHANCE, and then the next minute... you don't know. What happens in Love Island.. you don't understand that place. It was nine years ago since we were on that show. She's obviously grown up a lot, I'm a complete different person. I don't know.

"I said I'm going to give everyone a chance. I don't know if she's going to go in or not, but I'd probably be most worried about her being in there because it's a bit of a mad experience seeing your ex. But at the same time, I'd be open to just having a chat."
