Lady Annabel was a huge figure in the swinging sixties and even had her name immortalised when her husband named a popular nightclub in Mayfair, London after her. Annabel's is still one of London's most glam nightclubs, after being opened in 1963 by Lady Annabel's husband Mark Birley.
Lady Annabel was the youngest daughter of the 8th Marquess of Londonderry. She was also a major figure of the swinging sixties and a close friend of the late Princess Diana.
The socialite leaves behind her six children including Jemima Goldsmith, who is a film producer, and Zach Goldsmith, former Conservative MP for Richmond Park. Her children are said to be "desperately saddened" by the socialite's death.
At the mere age of 15, she took on the title of Lady Annabel in 1949. Her mother, Romaine Combe, who was the daughter of Major Boyce Combe, from Surrey, died of cancer two years later. Shortly after her mother's death, her father died.
Lady Annabel had links to royalty as Queen Elizabeth II attended her "coming out" ball in 1952. Meanwhile, Lady Annabel was also a close friend of the late Princess Diana.
