Coronation Street Jack P.Shepherd is adamant he doesn't want a stag do ahead of his nuptials later this year. His co-star Colson Smith shared the bombshell on their On the Sofa podcast, revealing that despite Jack's initial objections, he would still have a low-key stag party with a small group of friends to mark his upcoming special occasion.

The actor, who plays David Platt on the ITV soap, revealed that Jack had apparently already been informed about the plans during a conversation in the gym, although Jack had no recollection of this. Colson disclosed: "There is something that I need to broach with you on this subject and I don't quite know when the right time to do this is."

The Corrie star went on: "Now is the right time, but you're very very against it. But I just need to tell you that it's happening, that there is a small group of us, which is only four people and then including yourself, that's five, but we have to tell you now that you are having a stag do."

As Jack claimed he hadn't been told, Colson reminded him of their discussion in the gym, asserting that they'd had a meeting, to which Jack firmly denied, adding they didn't have a "f*****g meeting".

Colson, however, tried to placate Jack and reassured him that the celebration would be low-key, after Jack reluctantly suggested that they could "go for a bit of food and then go out," reports Lancs Live.

Jack P. Shepherd's co-star Colson Smith suggested an "extravagant" stag do, but Jack shut it down with a firm "no". Fellow Corrie colleague Ben Price then piped up, proposing axe-throwing as a potential activity, to which Colson was keen, dubbing it a "Jolly Boys' Outing", tipping his hat to the iconic Only Fools and Horses episode.

When quizzed about his ideal stag celebration, Jack admitted: "But that's exactly it. I wouldn't have one."

In a romantic twist, June 2024 saw Jack pop the question to his long-time love Hanni Treweek during a safari in Tanzania. Hanni excitedly took to Instagram to announce: "05.06.24 I said YES to forever!!!"

It comes after the David Platt actor admitted he never speaks to co-stars after they are axed from the popular soap. The revelation came as fans fretted over his continued friendship with Colson Smith, who will be leaving the show after 14 years in 2025.

Jack said: "Because we're still doing the podcast I'll still have a relationship with him."

The actor previously admitted to not being one to reach out to people after they leave Corrie following the departure of his on-screen mum Gail Platt, played by Helen Worth, after 50 years on the Cobbles. He added: "If the opportunity arises, and they phone me, I'll answer."
