by Jamie Roberts · The MirrorIt's a face-off that fans of Love Island can't wait to see.
Gabby Allen and Marcel Somerville are set to reunite in the All Stars villa six years after they first paired together. At the time the duo finished in fourth place and went on to form a relationship outside of the villa. They appeared to be in it for the long haul, but just one year later, their world came crashing down when it emerged that their relationship was at a crossroads and Marcel had cheated on Gabby. He later admitted his actions were a "big mistake."
Now, they are set to be cooped up in the South African villa and fans of the hit ITV show can't wait to see whether their will be fireworks or fisticuffs. As the first scenes of the new series get underway, viewers will see the latest cast members play a spicy ice-breaker game.
Following the game, Marcel walks into the villa and bumps into Gabby. There, the former Blazin Squad man asked if she is okay and gives her a hug.
Gabby admits: “I have mixed feelings about you. It’s nice to see you, but I also think you’re a k**b. Do you know what I mean?" Marcel replies: “We both just lived since innit… it’s bringing back that past."
Gabby went on to say it feels weird before telling Marcel "what the f***?" when thinking about how things ended between the pair.
The islanders later find out the public have already been tasked with voting, and host Maya Jama lets them on in the news. To shocked faces, Maya reveals: “The decision of who you couple up with is not down to you. The public have already coupled you up!”
Olivia says: “Oh, no!," while Catherine jokes: “Who? Who, guys?” They soon realise they will have to wait to find out as Maya tells the stunned cast: "I’m going to let you get settled into the Villa, make yourself at home and then I’ll be back later tonight… goodbye, have a good time, love you.”
The scenes come after a number of past favourites from years gone by entered the villa in search for romance once more. While some have hardly changed at all, others have seemingly taken the bold move to change their appearance.
It's thought the entire cast are paid the same flat fee - meaning it doesn't matter who is more popular among fans of the show, or who might have the biggest social media followers. This year's line-up, alongside Marcel and Gabby, sees the likes of Curtis Pritchard, Kaz Crossley and India Reynolds go in search of their soulmate once again.
