Adam Peaty breaks silence and 'thanks Jesus' after Holly Ramsay wedding and family feud
Adam Ramsay Peaty has spoken for the first time after he and Holly Ramsay's wedding was overshadowed by his ongoing family feud
by Daniel Bird · The MirrorAdam Peaty has broken his silence after his wedding. The Olympian has been surrounded by drama following his recent wedding to Gordon Ramsay's daughter, Holly.
But now, after falling out with his family and some close friends who were uninvited from his wedding, the swimming star has thanked Jesus for "everything". The former Strictly Come Dancing star had initially planned to have his entire family by his side, including having one of his brothers as one of his groomsmen.
This, however, didn't go to plan. Instead, his only relative at the ceremony, held at Bath Abbey, was his sister, Bethany. But now, Adam, who is going by the name Adam Ramsay Peaty, has spoken out. He said: "It's the last day of 2025. Thank you, Jesus, for everything this year."
Adam and Holly were surrounded by a string of famous faces, including Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham and his Strictly co-stars, Sara Davies and broadcaster Dan Walker. The dad-of-one came under fire for uninviting his parents, Caroline and Mark, while his sister Bethany has been accused of "betraying" her family by attending.
Hours before his big day, his aunt, Louise, hit out at Adam in a scathing text message, which he didn't receive, as he had blocked his family. She said: "I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both. Shame.
"Remember on this, your happiest day, and on each anniversary of your happiest day, that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams." His latest post also comes after Adam was criticised for distancing himself from his family after he publicly changed his social media name to Adam Ramsay Peaty.
While his relatives had been left devastated in the run-up to the ceremony, they also found themselves being heavily criticised at the reception. Holly's father, Gordon, slammed Adam's relatives during his father-of-the-bride speech, according to reports.
The TV chef, who is known for his sharp tongue, said his new son-in-law is a "lucky man" while looking at his own wife, Tana, saying it's what he has "to look forward to". Addressing his daughter, Ramsay said: "Shame you don't have the same."
Gordon also told the Olympian that Tana would be an "amazing mum" to both Adam and Holly. Adam also failed to acknowledge his own family in his speech. Instead, he praised his swimming coach for "everything" and said she had been responsible for "grounding and inspiring him", adding she was "like a mum" to him.
Adam's own mother, on the eve of his wedding, said the fallout had left her feeling as though her son and Holly had "cut my heart out". She added: "I don't think they understand how much they have hurt me." She added: "This is the first Christmas that I've not had my family together – my family is broken. Yes, I have my other grandchildren. Yes, I have my other children, but my family is split because of the goings on…because of the wedding."
However, Caroline believes that Adam's new family had him in their "clutches". She said previously, "I can't help but feel like they are pulling him away from me. Their family is very insular." A source also responded to the digs that the Peaty family endured during the speeches.
They fumed: "This was the Ramsays' plan all along. They wanted Adam's family gone, and they have succeeded. You'd think that as parents, Gordon and Tana would have a bit more compassion towards Caroline, Mark and the family."
