Danny Jones and wife Georgia are seen for the first time after Maura Higgins kiss as they work through their problems
by Tom Bryant · The MirrorJungle star Danny Jones and wife Georgia have put on a public show of togetherness after the McFly star’s kiss with Maura Higgins.
The pair were seen together for the first time since Danny’s boozy 3am kiss at a BRIT Awards afterparty with his fellow I’m a Celebrity star.
A source said: “They are clearly looking to put things behind them, and move on with their lives. It really hasn’t been a good time at all but they are very much together."
Onlookers remarked how the two appeared "very serious" after being seen in Richmond, south-west London, nursing coffees as they walked on the green. But a source said: "They are positive people and can look to the future together. Things have been hard but they are moving forward as a couple."
The pair have kept a low-profile ever since Danny was caught on film at 3am kissing Maura on March 2, at the London afterparty. The pair were seen smiling as they left the London bash shortly afterwards. A second video emerged showing Danny and Maura at another party at Nobu Hotel in Marylebone.
Georgia yesterday broke her social media silence by posting a picture of their seven-year-old son Cooper on her Instagram feed. Danny meanwhile has remained silent.
An insider told the Mirror last week Danny's behaviour has been a "slap in the face" for wife Georgia, 38, as they underwent crisis talks. Danny and Georgia, a former Miss World, married in 2014 after meeting in 2009 at a Miss London event
She recently opened up about their romance on a podcast, saying they didn’t originally gell. She admitted: "He was a bit of a d*ck, and I didn’t really like him." He spent the next year trying to win her over, she said.
"He tried for a year," she revealed. "I do like to drop that into conversation every now and again. He wanted me for a year. I said no. I was totally chilled when we went on the date.
"I didn't really want to. My mum went, 'Oh darling, what have you got to lose? Go on, go and enjoy yourself.'" She said she had reasons to be skeptical, adding: "I said he's probably going to be a bit of a top shagger, isn't he. I just assumed.
"I treated him mean, kept him keen - without realising. I didn't know I was doing that." The couple latter got engaged in 2013 during a romantic holiday in Cyprus, before tying the knot in Georgia’s hometown of Malton.
"When I saw Georgia, I couldn't really take it. My legs shook. It was the most amazing view I've ever seen,” he said of seeing her at the wedding. The Mirror told this week how Maura was “in a bad way….... and really struggling" in the wake of her drunken kiss with Danny.
The ex-Love Island star, 34, has flown to Los Angeles for a photo shoot amid the furore. Friends say the last week has been horrendous as she has been deluged with horrific trolling, with one saying: "Maura is a tough character but the reaction has been utterly relentless, it's taken its toll. She has found it very difficult to navigate.
"She appreciates she is in the public eye and there is extra interest around her, but the abuse is off the charts, and people need to calm down." Maura looked downcast as she was spotted at Los Angeles International Airport at the end of last week. The friend added: "She is trying to treat things as business as usual, but it's hard."
