Love Island All Stars Gabby Allen reveals real feelings towards Marcel as exes set to reunite
Gabby Allen and Marcel Somerville - who met on a previous series of Love Island - are both heading back into the villa for the new All Stars series, which kicks off next week
by Lucy Needham, Jasmine Allday · The MirrorGabby Allen has revealed how she really feels about Marcel Somerville ahead of their Love Island All Stars reunion.
The former Islander and personal trainer is heading back onto the show in the hope of finding love, but there will an unwelcome surprise for her there - as her former boyfriend Marcel is also heading into the South African villa.
The pair met on the third series of the show, and were together a year after the show - until Marcel confessed that he had cheated on Gabby during a holiday. The Blazin' Squad slept with another woman staying at his hotel while on a romantic break with Gabby. At the time, Gabby said Marcel snuck off after their trip had been blighted by a series of stormy rows.
Given their tricky past, fans are no doubt ready for the fireworks when the pair finally reunite.
Gabby is yet to find out the line-up of who's going on the show, but she's ready to take on Marcel and insists she wants to speak to him about what happened between them - and to see if they can move forward.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she revealed: "I'm going to be open to anyone and everyone who goes in. Obviously, there's a big elephant in the room - in that my ex possibly could be going in.
"We haven't seen each other in six years, it's been such a long time. There's no hard feelings. It is what it is. I actually don't know how I can prepare for that. I'm preparing myself for him coming in and if he does, we'll cross that bridge when it comes to it."
She added: "We haven't spoken so I feel like there would be if he was to go in there would be conversations to be had. But I wish him all best, I hope that we could find some sort of common ground to you know, move forward and not look backwards."
Gabby is open-minded about developing a friendship with Marcel, who is currently in the process of a divorce from his most recent partner Rebecca Viera, after she was accused of cheating on him with another man.
"I'd like to actually have a conversation with him, and put it all behind us, and get some sort of friendship. We did go out with each other for a year; there's no reason we can't take a positive from it," she said.
Gabby initially seemed open to a potential romance between them, before shutting the idea down and insisting they could end up as friends after all the heartache they had both separately gone through over the last few years.
She said: "I feel like I haven't seen him for six years, and I don't know how I'd feel when I actually see him. So I'll come back to you on that one. But I think it was a big betrayal of trust. Even though I'm over it now, it was a big thing that happened. I honestly don't think I would get back with him. I think there's room for a friendship but I don't know if I could look at someone the same way."
She added: "It really knocked my like my trust because you know not only was it a cheating situation how it happened like the circumstances was just wild you know ... As I said, it was a long time ago, but I feel like I built myself back up after that, you know, I've I feel like I've got my trust back in men. But you never know."
In terms of who she might want to couple up with, Gabby is keen on series two Islander Scott Thomas.
She said: "I heard that Scott Thomas is going in. I've known Scott for a long time anyway, but I think he has the attributes of someone I'd want. He's a little bit older. If there were a few options like that, a little bit older, a little bit more experience."
