Christine McGuinness has rushed her 12-year-old daughter to hospital. It has been a tough festive period, who shares her kids with her ex-husband Paddy McGuinness.

Christine is a mum to three kids - twins Leo and Penelope, plus Felicity, all of whom are autistic - and had previously opened up about how tough things can be for her at times with her children's autism.

She has revealed how she had to go to hospital on Christmas Eve with her little girl, who fell ill, but insisted fans need not worry as she is doing a lot better now and they made it home in time for Christmas.

She wrote on Instagram : " Christmas Eve 6pm. A&E. Luckily, Thank God, my Penelope is ok. Please do not worry. Sending a big thank you to all of the doctors and nurses working over Christmas and looking after us, making sure we got home in time for Santa."

In a separate post, she later gave an update on her busy festive period. She said: "These last 24hrs have been eventful! With a flooded bathroom, last minute shopping, a visit to A&E, wrapping past midnight and remembering that Christmas looks different for everyone! However Christmas meets you this year, I hope there are small glimmers of joy in your day.

"Thinking of those who are alone or grieving, and celebrating those welcoming new love, new babies, and new dreams. Wishing you all a wonderful, magical, peaceful Christmas."

In a recent interview, Christine said she was "very proud" of her kids and how they handled one part of the festive experience. She said: "I'm very proud of them. For three years before that Nativity, they could not sit in the assembly. They would come in the room; they'd last a couple of minutes, and they'd leave. They'd be fidgeting; they'd be upset.

"And this one time, they got up on stage, and they said all of the words, and they performed, and they remembered everything, and they smiled, and I just thought, 'Wow', you know? They are doing it. 'They can do it, so I need to do it.'"

Amid her split from Paddy, Christine insists her main concern is her family.

"I'm feeling really good now. This year has been difficult as I've just come off my meds. I've been on ADHD meds for the past year – I literally begged my doctor for help, because I just couldn't cope with things," she said.

"Between the divorce, all of the attention around my personal life and dating – it was quite a lot. I''m constantly thinking about my children and how all of this [fame] is going to affect them. I've had to really think about if I'm in the right industry and if I can continue."
