Princess Charlotte's ‘adorable’ reaction at royal carol service captivates viewers
As the nation banded together to watch Princess Kate's highly anticipated Christmas carol concert, it was daughter Princess Charlotte that stole the show with her adorable reactions
by Phoebe Tonks · The MirrorAs the nation settled down on Tuesday evening to tune in to Princess Kate ’s annual Christmas carol concert Together at Christmas, all eyes were on the Princess of Wales and her family as she put a difficult year behind her and focused on the future in a heartfelt celebration of all things festive.
The event, which is the fourth carol concert hosted by Kate, marked a welcome return to form for the senior royal, who this year briefly stepped away from the public spotlight to focus on her cancer recovery and treatment after being diagnosed with an undisclosed form of the illness at the start of the year.
Supported by all three of her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis for the occasion, it was Princess Charlotte that truly stole the show, when her heartwarming reaction to the service was caught on camera for the world to see.
During the service, the nine year old channelled her mother’s sense of duty and compassion as she sweetly assisted both of her brothers to light their candles, before truly letting the magic of Christmas brighten her face as she was enchanted by a ballet performance mid-way through.

Clearly amazed by the Royal Ballet performers, Charlotte’s face said it all as she smiled and watched in awe at the skilled performance - and viewers at home were quick to notice too.
"Aww, Princess Charlotte's face was a picture watching the dancers from The Royal Ballet," one fan wrote on X, with a second viewer then adding: "What a wonderful carol concert, loved watching Princess Charlotte enjoying the ballet.”
A third also wrote: "Princess Charlotte loves the ballet dancers.” Meanwhile several other viewers couldn’t help but notice the uncanny resemblance between Charlotte and her mother, both in mannerisms and visual appearance.
The star-studded celebration was originally filmed on December 6th, but broadcast at 7:30pm on ITV to mark Christmas Eve. Featuring an impressive line up of famous faces, including Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean and Gregory Porter, the concert also included a festive reading from A Christmas Carol performed by Richard E Grant, meanwhile Prince William himself delivered a lesson from the bible in a reminder of the true meaning of the holiday.
Princess Kate herself had already emphasised the importance of the meaning behind her concert ahead of its airing, when she told viewers: "This service reflects upon the importance of love and empathy, and how much we need each other, especially in the most difficult times of our lives. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this year's celebrations.”
