Maura Higgins says 'I was stupid to kiss Danny Jones' as she earns savage label

Former Love Island star Maura Higgins met McFly's Danny Jones, 38, on I'm A Celebrity last November and the pair enjoyed a boozy night at the Brits on March 1.

TV star Maura Higgins has told friends she has been "stupid" and blames herself for the mess caused after she kissed married Danny Jones at a Brits afterparty.

The former Love Island star met Danny, 38, on I'm A Celebrity last November and the pair enjoyed a boozy night at the Brits on March 1.

Video footage shows them enjoying a late night kiss and since then Maura has now flown to LA, with Danny and his wife Georgia yet to comment from the fallout.

But now a source close to Maura in Closer magazine has claimed: "Maura has hit rock bottom as she blames herself for truly messing her everything up. She's told pals she deeply regrets that moment and it was stupid, but there is truly nothing whatsoever going on between her and Danny. "She's gutted that she's now being spoken of as a marriage wrecker"

They went on:."Maura knows Danny loves his wife and to think anything else is absurd." Maura, 34, is in LA for a photoshoot and has only posted photos on social media showing her jetting out of the country.

The Mirror told yesterday how she is "really struggling" from the abuse she is getting for what is happening.

Danny's wife Georgia is also thought to be upset by what has happened and cancelled a planned public appearance at the weekend when she had been due to front a live podcast.

A source told the Mirror last week that Danny's behaviour has been a "slap in the face" for wife Georgia, 38, who is a former Miss England.

The insider added: "She has been an incredible partner so this feels very unfair." The pair, who wed in 2014, have a seven-year-old son.

Closer magazine also suggests that Maura hopes to speak to Georgia to set things right and play down what happened.

Maura recently split from Pete Wicks after an on-off relationship for some time.
