January 2026 Nintendo Direct to focus on The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Nintendo and Universal are set to deliver the latest trailer for Mario's next cinematic adventure.

The next Nintendo Direct has been announced and it’s only two days away. This weekend, Nintendo will broadcast new details about The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which is set to hit theaters this April.

Nintendo announced the next Direct in a post on social media. The presentation will take place on Sunday, January 25, at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET. It’ll be streamed on Nintendo’s YouTube channel as well as within the Nintendo Today app. Nintendo has confirmed that there will be no video game news during this Direct.

During the Direct, we can expect to see the next trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The post announcing the Direct was accompanied by a new shot from the film, with Mario and Luigi wielding fire power and donning the white outfits associated with those abilities.

The last movie-dedicated Nintendo Direct was in November 2025 and brought the news of Brie Larson (Rosalina) and Benny Safdie (Bowser Jr.) joining the voice cast. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie hits theaters on April 3, 2026.
