ARC Raiders Cold Snap Update brings freezing temperatures & new survival mechanics

Players will have to run for shelter and find unique healing items to protect them from the freezing map condition in ARC Raiders.

As we close out the year, Embark Studios has another big update for ARC Raiders to take into the holidays next week. The Cold Snap update is coming into play, and with it comes an all-new map condition with new threats, new items to help protect against those threats, and a whole lot of unique opportunities and gameplay.

Embark Studios launched the ARC Raiders Cold Snap update this week alongside a new trailer. The major addition in this update is the Cold Snap map condition, which can randomly affect the Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport and The Blue Gate maps. If afflicted, the map will take on a freezing, snowy state. When outside, players will be increasingly affected by exposure to the cold, which could hurt them if they stay out long enough. Getting in-doors will be all the more important, and there will be unique items in the field that could help you keep frostbite at bay.

In addition to the frosty new map condition, the Cold Snap update also features a variety of seasonal challenges and rewards to earn through the new Flickering Flames event and Candleberry Banquet project. Players can also reset their progress and start over with their level-up perks intact, allowing them to re-experience ARC Raiders’ progress from a stronger starting position.
