by TJ Denzer · ShacknewsActivision and Paramount Pictures have officially dropped a theatrical release date for the Call of Duty movie. The film will hit theaters on June 30, 2028.
Paramount and Activsion shared the official release date of the Call of Duty film on the franchise’s social media. The film has been in the works since Activision and Paramount Pictures inked a deal in September 2025. Since then, director Peter Berg (Mile 22, Spenser Confidential) has been attached as a director for a script written by Taylor Sheridan (Sicario, Yellowstone), who is also producing alongside David Glasser (Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown). Activision President Rob Kotisch is also attached as an executive producer.
The film is set to take on the Call of Duty franchise in a bombastic way. Berg is more than excited to take the director’s chair and shared as much with Deadline at CinemaCon, claiming he “feels deeply connected to the special operations community” and wants to portray the military operations in a Call of Duty film “with authenticity,” and, at the same time, a “really big scope.”
It will be a while for 2028 to arrive and we don’t even know who’s playing in the Call of Duty film yet, so stay tuned to the Call of Dury movie topic for more updates and details.
