Isabela Merced to lead Sega's House of the Dead movie

Merced previously starred as Dina in HBO's The Last of Us.

Sega has provided an update on its House of the Dead movie, revealing that Isabela Merced will star in the video game adaptation. She will also serve as an executive producer on the project.

Deadline reported Isabela Merced’s casting in the House of the Dead movie. As announced back in 2024, the film will be directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, who directed four of the Resident Evil movies. Merced is no stranger to video game adaptations herself, having played Dina in Season 2 of The Last of Us on HBO.

Details are still light on the House of the Dead movie, but the report states that it’s a top priority for Sega following the success of the Sonic the Hedgehog flicks. It’s also claimed that this adaptation will bring a “fresh take” to the series.

Producers of the House of the Dead movie are expected to begin pitching it to studios soon. In other video game adaptation news, Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to become a TV show by The Last of Us writer Craig Mazin.
