The Dead or Alive franchise has sold over 11 million units

Koei Tecmo has announced the latest sales milestone for the Dead or Alive series.

Koei Tecmo has announced that Dead or Alive, its long-running fighting game series, has surpassed 11 million units sold. The series first debuted in the 90s and has seen multiple spin-offs over the years.

Koei Tecmo confirmed the new sales figures for the Dead or Alive franchise in the company’s latest financial report. Developed by Team Ninja, the series has been a mainstay in the fighting genre since it first arrived in 1996.

Dead or Alive 6 was the most recent mainline game in the series, as called out in Koei Tecmo’s report. Koei Tecmo recently announced Dead or Alive 6: Last Round, a definitive version of the 2019 game. The publisher also confirmed that a new Dead or Alive game was in development.

In addition to Dead or Alive, Koei Tecmo announced that the Nioh series has sold over 10 million units, bolstered by the recent release of Nioh 3.
