Supermassive has re-dated its sci-fi horror game.
by Donovan Erskine · ShacknewsAfter being delayed to 2026, Directive 8020 has a new release date. The sci-fi horror game is set for May and has a brand-new trailer to go with the news.
Supermassive Games released the new trailer for Directive 8020 today. At the end, it’s revealed that the game will be released on May 12, 2026. The trailer shows more of the paranoid sci-fi story, including a moment where the player has to decide whether to abandon a character or save them.
Directive 8020 was originally scheduled for an October 2025 release before being delayed to 2026. Last year, we talked to leaders at the studio about the game’s delay, layoffs, and the future of The Dark Pictures series.
