EVE Online Cradle of War Expansion announced for June 2026
Fenris Creations revealed the next expansion of EVE Online as the first of a three-part series that will expand combat and warfare across its universe.
by TJ Denzer · ShacknewsWith EVE Fanfest 2026 happening this week, the newly rebranded Fenris Creations shared the details of the latest expansion coming to EVE Online, Cradle of War. The Cradle of War expansion introduces a military campaign system, a new non-PVP starting system to learn the ropes, new warships that include navy destroyers and command carriers, achievements, player titles, and more, and it’s all coming June 9, 2026.
Fenris Creations shared the details of EVE Online: Cradle of War during the EVE Fanfest 2026 keynote. There, EVE Online’s directors spoke more about the goals and ideals of this expansion
“Conflict in EVE has always been driven by players, but now its impact drives the next level of warfare,” said Bergur Finnbogason, Creative Director for EVE Online. “Military campaigns connect player actions into persistent, multi-front wars. Players still decide how conflict unfolds, but now those decisions shape the future of the empires.”

“Cradle of War makes large-scale conflict more accessible without reducing its depth,” added Snorri Árnason, Executive Producer for EVE Online. “Players can step into the war effort earlier and have their impact meaningfully – whether through combat, logistics, industry, or intelligence.”
The military campaigns system will be used to introduce structured objectives and progression to empire conflict, allowing players to join in on coordinated conflicts as combat pilots, haulers, miners, scouts, coordinators, or however else they want to help. We’re also getting eight new ship classes, particularly heavy on navy destroyer types built for factional warfare in coordinated fleets and Tech 2 carriers built for support, space control, and amplifying ally effectiveness.
This expansion will also see the full release of Exordium, which is a non-PVP starting area for new players to learn how to play EVE in a low-risk setting in which veterans can freely enter to mentor and show newbies the ropes. Thanks to the relatively small rewards and resources and the non-PVP of Exordium, it should hopefully deter trolls and raiders to create a good starting experience for new EVE Capsuleers.
