Nintendo posts first set images of Zelda film actors following casting reveals

We got our first in-film looks at Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link on the set of the upcoming movie.

The Zelda movie is officially in production, and fans are excited to see any snippet of how it will turn out. Earlier this year, Nintendo revealed the performers for the iconic roles of Zelda and Link, and this week we finally got our first official look at Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth on set and in costume and makeup.

Nintendo and Sony Pictures revealed the first looks at Bragason and Ainsworth on the Zelda movie set via Nintendo Today. They would go on to post them later on social media as well. The photos focus on Bragason and Ainsworth, giving us our first looks at them as Zelda and Link, respectively, on a grassy plain somewhere in New Zealand where the film is being shot.

The photos come after unofficial clips and images were shared over the weekend, giving us blurry looks at what was going on with the Zelda film. The images posted today bring quite a bit more clarity to what Zelda and Link will look like in the movie, and fans have been trying to figure out the era of the game based on their outfits. Though the Breath of the Wild universe is somewhat expected because of its popularity and Zelda’s blue outfit in the images, Link having a sleeved tunic and wrist guards seem more in line with his Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess appearances.

Those details aren’t confirmed yet, but with a 2027 release date set, we have plenty of time to learn more. Stay tuned to the Zelda film topic for more updates and news.
