Minecraft is one of the biggest video game properties in the world. It's big enough to get its own real-life theme park experience. As part of this year's Minecraft Live March 2026 presentation, Mojang offered a first look at Minecraft World. Touted as the first Minecraft theme park experience, it's coming to Chessington World of Adventures in the United Kingdom, located 35 minutes from London via train.

Built as part of a partnership with Merlin Entertainments, the Chessington-based theme park will carve out a chunk of its land to craft something that's uniquely Minecraft-themed. That includes the world's first Minecraft rollercoaster, playscapes filled with Minecraft blocks, and shops filled with merchandise. Mojang has shown off numerous concept art pieces, revealing various Minecraft biomes and potential mobs to interact with.

"Minecraft World represents a meaningful milestone in our ongoing journey to expand the Minecraft universe," Minecraft Senior Creative Director of Entertainment Torfi Frans Olafsson said via press release. "We're thrilled to have partnered with Merlin Entertainments to realize a place where you can literally be in the Minecraft Overworld and have an adventure of your own with your family and friends. The team at Merlin Entertainments and Mojang have worked hard to craft an experience that feels immersive, authentic and welcoming, and we can't wait for our community to experience it."

Mojang and Merlin are looking for an unparalleled sense of authenticity to the point that they've called in a handful of Minecraft creators to provide input and help ensure that everything goes right. However, aside from the concept art and some photos of the construction site, there isn't much to look at today. However, work is underway, and Minecraft World is expected to open at Chessington World of Adventures in 2027. Look for more information over on the Minecraft website, as well as the Chessington World of Adventures website.
