Dead by Daylight will let players make their own maps and modes with sandboxed modding
Dead by Daylight will release official mod tools in 2027.
by Donovan Erskine · ShacknewsDead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive will put the power of creativity in the hands of its players next year. The studio has announced that it will add official mod support to the game in 2027, allowing players to create their own maps and modes in the asymmetrical horror game.
The announcement was made as part of Dead by Daylight’s 10th Anniversary celebration event. “In a move that will allow its community to create, experiment, and express themselves in the game like never before, Dead by Daylight will be officially opened up to sandboxed modding,” wrote Behaviour in an announcement shared with Shacknews.
With these tools, players will be able to put their own spin on Dead by Daylight, creating maps and modes that they can share with friends and the wider DBD community. The extent of these tools and what players will be able to accomplish with them remains to be seen.
2027 is shaping up to be a huge year for Dead by Daylight. The game will also receive a visual overhaul and a chapter based on The Casting of Frank Stone.
