Overwatch 2 has gotten its share of fun skins and events to go with them, but this next one is aiming to steal players’ hearts. Blizzard Entertainment and Microsoft have teamed up with Atlus and Sega to bring new cosmetics based on the Phantom Thieves characters in Persona 5 to Overwatch 2. The cosmetics are set to launch this week with an event that will feature a themed hub, challenges, easter eggs, and more.

Blizzard announced the details of the Overwatch 2 Persona 5 event in a press release alongside teasers on the Overwatch social media. The big reveal is Persona 5 themed skins for some of the cast, based on the characters from Atlus’ hit RPG, and the event and their availability starts on September 16, 2025. The characters and their skins are as follows:

  • Wuyang as Joker
  • Mercy as Panther
  • Lifeweaver as Fox
  • D.Va as Queen
  • Genji as Skull

In addition to these skins, players will be able to explore a temporary event that celebrates the collaboration. That event includes a reworked game hub, new challenges that features their own themed rewards, and various secrets to explore while the Persona 5 event is active. Persona 5 is still one of Atlus and Sega’s best selling games for the franchise, getting all sorts of expansions, spinoffs and crossovers in other games since its launch. It also inspired the style of the remakes such as Persona 3: Reload.

With Persona 5 skins coming to Overwatch 2, it’s an interesting new addition to Blizzard’s hero shooter and its cosmetics. Stay tuned to the Overwatch 2 topic for more news and updates.
