Dead by Daylight begins work on first community-created Chapter
Dead by Daylight's development team will work with fan voting to craft the game's first community-created Chapter.
by Ozzie Mejia · ShacknewsThe team at Behaviour Interactive has spent the past several years working with big license holders for some big pop culture crossovers for Dead by Daylight. The next big collaboration is going in a slightly different direction. The Dead by Daylight team is now looking to work directly with the game's fanbase, announcing that a new community-created Chapter is now in the works.
The Dead by Daylight is currently crafting assets based on the results of various fan votes held on the game's Grimoire website. Based on these votes, the team will determine the Grimoire Chapter's direction, characters, art assets, and other creative options. The next series of votes is set to run between Friday, January 23 at 12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT and Monday, January 26 at 12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT. This round of voting will allow players to decide on the next Killer's silhouette design and the next Survivor's face. Additional voting sessions will further decide both the Killer and Survivor's visual and gameplay identity, as well as the Chapter's overall aesthetic and atmosphere.
"Through the Grimoire, we’re bringing players into our process in a way we've never done before," Dead by Daylight Creative Director Dave Richard said via press release. "It's about opening the doors for both people looking to get into Dead by Daylight, as well as the incredible community that's been with us since the start, and taking them from players to co-creators. We want them to truly feel a sense of ownership and agency when it comes to shaping the characters and mechanics of an entirely new, original Chapter."
Expect to learn more about Dead by Daylight's community-crafted Grimoire Chapter as its development continues. It'll likely be a big part of this year's 10th anniversary celebration.
