Marvel Rivals gets Zombies PvE game mode next week
The mode will pit teams of players against waves of the undead.
by TJ Denzer · ShacknewsMarvel Rivals has been going strong as a PvP game since it released at the end of 2024, but soon, players will get to experience a little PvE action with their favorite heroes and villains if they want. The developers have announced an upcoming Marvel Zombies mode, which will pit groups of players against increasingly dangerous hordes of undead enemies. The mode will be launching in an update coming next week.
NetEase Games announced the details of the Marvel Zombies mode in a recent developer video posted on Marvel Rivals social media channels. Starting on October 23, 2025, players will be able to jump into the new Marvel Zombies mode, which is based on - and coincides with - the Marvel Zombies animated series that just launched on Disney+. Similar to many zombie modes, teams of up to four will battle against waves of undead hordes and try to survive as long as they can as the intensity increases wave by wave.
Marvel Rivals’ take on a Zombies mode looks fairly by-the-numbers from the first look at gameplay, but it at least seems fun to shellack hordes of undead as Blade, Thor, Magik, and the rest. Plus, it’s one of Marvel Rivals’ first forays into a PvE mode, which could be the bedrock for future events and content. It’s also a pretty suitable mode to go with Halloween shenanigans.
