Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sets Switch 2 release date for June 2026

Square Enix is finally going to be bringing the next chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 remake series to Switch 2 this summer.

One of the loftier games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 is definitely Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The game continues the retelling of the original story of Final Fantasy 7 in improved graphical and gameplay style, letting us travel the world as Cloud and his friends fight against Shinra and Sephiroth wherever their evil plans culminate, and it’s coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on June 3, 2026.

Nintendo showed off the latest trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and its release date in this week’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. You can watch the new trailer below.
