Craft your own pottery creation and then get ready to step into the arena this spring.

Double Fine is wasting no time diving into its next game. Months after the release of Keeper, Tim Schafer and company revealed the studio's next project. Kiln, as its title implies, takes players into the realm of pottery, but does so in the context of a multiplayer brawler.

Kiln encourages players to build their own pot from scratch. Players will determine the size, shape, and overall look of their pot while also assigning it various attributes and placing it in different weight classes. Those pots will then be taken into the main game to compete against the creations of players from around the world. Depending on how the player's creation looks, it may be able to perform different functions, like carrying liquids or other objects.

Once a pot is ready for battle, players can take part in several multiplayer game modes. One example is the Quench mode, which has teams of four players attempt to pour water on the opposing team's kiln. Double Fine is aiming to ship multiple maps for Kiln's different modes, each with different layouts that might require their own strategies.

Kiln is coming Spring 2026 to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will also come to Xbox Game Pass on launch day. Those looking to learn more can check out today's Xbox Wire post. A lot of news came out of today's Xbox Developer Direct, so keep it on Shacknews for the latest updates.
