In its latest financial statements, Koei Tecmo’s franchise listings showed that the Nioh series has sold over 10 million units as of the company’s last quarter end.

That was shared in Koei Tecmo’s latest financial reports on its investor relations website, where the company listed all of its franchises and their unit sales so far. Nioh isn’t Koei Tecmo’s best seller overall. The Nobunaga’s Ambition (11 million units), Dynasty Warriors (24 million units), and Dead or Alive (11 million units) have stayed ahead of Nioh, making the franchise Koei Tecmo’s fourth best-selling IP.

Nioh’s sales got a healthy boost earlier this year when Nioh 3 came out. I was a fan in my review. The combat and character creator were better than ever, though the open world and its quests were a bit meandering. Regardless, the game went on to grab the attention of fans and reached sales of 1 million units almost immediately.

Nioh continues to be a series that keeps on giving to fans in new and interesting ways with each entry, so it’s nice to see it’s also doing well as a result. For more on the franchise, stay tuned to the Nioh series topic for coverage and news.
