Resident Evil Requiem gets Switch 2-exclusive Pro Controller and Amiibo
A special 'Road to Requiem' showcase was packed with Resident Evil Requiem news.
by Ozzie Mejia · ShacknewsCapcom had a lot to say about the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, issuing a 10-minute Road to Requiem video on early Wednesday evening. The next installment in the Resident Evil series is now available for pre-order, but that's not all that the publisher had for fans. Some special RE exclusives are on their way, a couple of them coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Resident Evil Requiem was first revealed back at the September 2025 Nintendo Direct. While a mainline RE title coming to a Nintendo console is big news in itself, it doesn't look like Capcom is stopping there. During Wednesday's Road to Requiem presentation, viewers learned that a special Resident Evil Requiem Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller would be ready for the game's launch, coming in a gunmental black with designs from the game. More interestingly, the very first Resident Evil Amiibo is in the works. The Amiibo will be modeled after main protagonist Grace Ashcroft and will be ready for Summer 2026. Images of the Amiibo were not shown during this presentation.
Other items revealed during Wednesday's presentation included the Resident Evil Deluxe Edition, which will include five costumes, four weapon skins, two screen filters, and two weapon charms. Plus, those who opt to purchase the game on PC via the Epic Games Store are in line to get new RE-themed items for Fortnite, including the Grace Ashcroft outfit. Of course, there's still much more to say about Resident Evil Requiem, which is why Capcom is planning a special Resident Evil Showcase for early 2026.
Resident Evil Requiem is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27, 2026. Those who want to learn more can check out our Gamescom preview, as well as our Tokyo Game Show hands-on with the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
