How to level up fast in Dying Light: The Beast
Leveling efficiently in Dying Light: The Beast makes progressing through the game much more comfortable. Here's how.
by John Schutt · ShacknewsDying Light: The Beast is an action game first and foremost, but it still leans into light RPG mechanics for its equipment and leveling system. And you’ll want to level consistently, as you never want to be too far behind the power level of the enemies you’re fighting. Here’s how to level up quickly and efficiently in Dying Light: The Beast.
The best ways to level up in Dying Light: The Beast
While almost everything you do in Dying Light: The Beast gives experience, there are two main things beyond the main story you should do to level up fast. They are:
- Any Side Quests you encounter, so long as they’re not too high a level.
- World activities like Safe Spots and other white-iconed locations on the map
Side quests are optional missions you’ll unlock as you progress through the game and explore the map. Starting out, they can give around 4,000 XP, but even some early ones give 10,000 — late-game quests provide up to 20,000 XP upon completion.
Don’t expect these side quests to be walks in the park, either. Most tend to take ten to fifteen minutes to complete, if they’re on the shorter side, or up to half an hour if they’re more significant. The rewards outside the XP are usually worthwhile, but the leveling is really why you’ll do them.
The various world activities you can find are worth doing. Safe Houses and other such quick platforming or combat challenges reward not only 2,000-3,000 XP a pop, but also usually come with a crafting recipe, some crafting resources, and maybe some additional gear.
Safe Houses are especially useful as theta re, as you might expect, completely safe from zombies and can even instantly end a Volatile chase. That the resources respawn after a while provides another reason for revisiting safe houses as you progress.
