Hajiji calls on Sabahans to strengthen bonds of unity and faith this Aidiladha
by The Borneo Post · Borneo Post OnlineKOTA KINABALU (June 6): Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor has called on all Sabahans to continue strengthening the spirit of brotherhood and unity across the state, especially as Muslims prepare to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha.
In his Aidiladha 1446H message on Friday, he also urged the Muslim community to deepen their faith and piety, and to reflect on the profound story of sacrifice involving Prophet Ibrahim AS and his son, Prophet Ismail AS.
“The narrative of Aidiladha, which revolves around the act of sacrifice, highlights the lives of two great Islamic figures, Prophet Ibrahim AS and his son Prophet Ismail AS, and carries a deep meaning and philosophy focused on three key aspects of human life: struggle, sacrifice and devotion to Allah SWT,” he said.
Hajiji said the celebration, which coincides with the month of Hajj, is a sacred time that encapsulates both Habluminallah (relationship with God) and Habluminannas (relationship among people).
“This holy occasion should inspire us to reflect on our connection with the Almighty as well as our responsibilities towards one another as fellow human beings,” he said.
He expressed hope that the observance of Aidiladha this year would further strengthen unity and harmony among Malaysians in Sabah, regardless of background or belief.
