Jessica Simpson Allegedly Recorded a "Revenge" Album About Her Split from Eric Johnson

· Cosmopolitan

Jessica Simpson announced that she and her husband Eric Johnson have split after 10 years of marriage, and if you're wondering what went wrong...a source just spilled.

“Jess and Eric had trust issues,” said source tells Page Six. “They were no longer on the same page, and it drove a wedge between them.” Apparently, the exes decided to live separately last year “as a trial of sorts,” and the insider confirms that “Jess thought it would help if they spent some time apart but it only made her realize she enjoyed her independence.”

While the singer has “good days and bad days,” she's allegedly “handling the separation well, all things considered.”

Meanwhile, another source tells the Daily Mail that Jessica has recorded a breakup album. Sorry, make that a "revenge / heartbreak" album.

"It will be about her broken heart, so, yeah, I guess you can call it a revenge, a heartbreak album," their source says. "When Jessica writes music, she pours her heart into it and has no filter, it's very personal. So the album will really be about the struggles she has been through at home. It is super emotional and shares her side of the story. She has been working on the album for years, there is a lot in there."

In case you missed it, Jessica had this to say about her and Eric's split in a statement to Us Weekly: "Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family."
