Who Dies in Stranger Things? Here's Who Didn't Make It Out of the Final Episode Alive

Stranger Things is over after five seasons of Upside Down hijinks, and the final episode of the season was pretty heavy on the deaths. Here's who didn't make it out of the show alive (don't panic, everyone, Steve is still with us).

Vecna: Vecna met his end thanks to El impaling him on a giant spike while Will tapped into his mind to prevent him from harming El. But Joyce got the final death blow, by which I mean she literally chopped Vecna's head off.

The Mind Flayer: We found out that the Mind Flayer is a giant scary monster with a Demo-esque mouth, which Vecna has been casually living inside. It was killed thanks to a combination of El ripping through its body and killing Vecna, while the rest of the crew shot and fireballed it.

Kali: Kali was shot while helping Hopper and El in the Upside Down, and nope, she didn't turn out evil!

El (maybe): El sacrificed herself in the Upside Down, but her death is up for debate. During a game of Dungeons & Dragons 18 months into the future, Mike tells his friends that he believes Kali cast an illusion from inside the Upside Down that made it look like El was at the gate and died—but in actuality she was escaping through the tunnels. As for where she is now, Mike doesn't know for sure, but he thinks she's living her life in peace in a small town far away from Hawkins. We believe!
