· CosmopolitanMother's Day can be a surprisingly tricky holiday for celebrities, especially those with blended families—just ask Chris Pratt—but not, it seems, for Ben Affleck. This Sunday, Ben was spotted visiting Jennifer Garner, his ex wife and mother of his three children. Co-parenting in Hollywood, what a concept!
According to The Daily Mail, which caught snaps of Ben outside Jennifer's Brentwood home, the actor arrived to drop off the former couple's youngest, Sam. (The two also share Violet, 19, and Fin, 16.) It's unclear whether or not Ben stayed for some quality family time or left Jennifer to enjoy Mother's Day with her kids. And, while Us Weekly reported that flowers were delivered to Jennifer's home later that day, the sender has not been confirmed. Still, it's good to see that Ben continues to support Jennifer and their kids.
Of course, Ben and Jen have always been a solid co-parenting team (at least, as far as the general public is concerned). The two split in 2015, finalizing their divorce three years later, and have consistently been seen attending family functions together and celebrating holidays ever since. Ben has even given Jennifer shout outs on Mother's Day before. In 2021, back when he still had an Instagram account, he shared a sweet tribute to his ex on Mother's Day, featuring a series of family photos. “So happy to share these kids with you. Luckiest parents in the world,” he wrote at the time, as reported by People. “Thanks for all the good you do. Happy Mother's Day. Love, their Dad.”
“I'm very grateful and respectful of her,” Ben told People of Jennifer in 2020. “Our marriage didn't work and that's difficult. Both of us really believe that it's important for kids to see their parents respect one another and get along, whether they're together or not.” Now, 5 years later, it seems their coparenting relationship is as strong as ever. In a recent interview with GQ, Ben called Jennifer “a really good coparent and partner,” adding that she was “wonderful and great.”
