Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were one of Hollywood’s elite celebrity couples for 19 years until they split last month. On September 30, the Oscar winner filed for divorce from the country crooner due to irreconcilable differences—but insiders say she’s “keeping it positive” a few weeks into the process.
While the Babygirl star recently returned to Nashville from Europe, a source tells People that she’s “surrounded by the two things that matter the most to her…her family and her work.”

Per the insider, “She isn’t someone who dwells on regrets—she believes everything happens for a reason.” In her divorce filing, Nicole reportedly asked to be primary residential parent in the custody agreement for their two teenage daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
The source added that Nicole has “several work projects coming up and is looking forward to them,” noting that “she has a great attitude and feels very grateful for her life.”
ICYMI, Nicole is booked and busy for most of this year, with a third season of Big Little Lies and a sequel to 1988’s Practical Magic on the way. She’s working on TV adaptations for Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Scarpetta, too.
According to Page Six, the Moulin Rouge actor was completely “blindsided” by the split, which left her “devastated.”
A separate insider told the Daily Mail the marriage ended because “Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour. There was a lot of love between the two and they might not divorce. [They’ve] been together for decades so there is a world which they can reconcile, but the way their pairing is now, they are not a couple.”
